Drake- “Slime You Out” Ft. SZA
The first single from Drake’s album ”For All the Dogs” has been released featuring SZA and it’s giving old Drake, and we’re here for it!
The five-minute track ‘Slime You Out’ expresses Drake’s exasperation towards women and their behaviors. Drake’s outro starts with “I don't know what's wrong with you girls, I feel like y'all don't need love, You need somebody who could micro-manage you, You know what I'm sayin'?... says just about enough. Meanwhile, SZA delivers a counterattack in her lyrics “Damn, these niggas got me so twisted, How the fuck you so real, but play bitch on my line?”
While the lyrics fuel a battle of the sexes bringing out ‘Take Care’ Drake and SZA’s ethereal voice, the melody is sleek and pop with a strong R&B backbeat.
Although this is Drake and SZA’s first song collaboration, listeners are all still buzzing about their relationship since Drake’s feature on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now,” where he rapped about dating her in 2008. “Yeah, said she wanna fuck to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08 / If you cool with it, baby, she can still play.” Later, SZA took to X and clarified the year “actually 2009” and that he might have “innocently rhymed '08 [with] wait.”
Since the news of their dating life, the collaboration between the two artists has been long awaited by listeners. While ‘Slime You Out’ is centric and infuses pop trap culture, fans are ecstatic to know if old Drake is back for his 8th studio LP which is set to drop Sept. 22.
