Q: What are your favorite paints to use? Is there a specific brand?

I like to keep things open and fresh, so I will switch from oil paints to acrylics to watercolors. Just whatever direction I feel called to. I do not prefer a specific brand but I like quality paint. The more unique the more exciting.

Q: What is your favorite brush to use?

Brushes I find in unconventional ways if I am gifted a brush from a friend or I find this specific type at a random store or even just find it on the ground. I think it is this attachment that is my favorite rather than a specific type.

Q: What does abstract art look like and mean to you?

It is the art that is raw and felt, it does not have to represent anything visually and is more a language that is subject to the viewer and artist.

Q: What kind of images do you like to paint the most why?

I mean I never really know, it is an inspiration I guess. Sometimes I just see something that makes me excited to figure it out. Other times it is about beauty and what is beautiful to me might not be beautiful to you or vice versa. I ultimately believe that the idea that’s most current and fresh is the image I want to make

Q: How long does it normally take to complete one of your pieces?

It depends on how ambitious, some take days others take months. I will have an unfinished painting in my studio for years and then I will finally work on it and finish it. And it is way better than some pieces that took days or it is the opposite lol.

Q: Do you have a favorite art museum? If so what is it and why?

I really want to see the Tate in London. But it is honestly just dope to travel to different spots and see what they have to offer. I feel like European museums are cool cause they are older.

Q: Besides the work that you do, how else would you say you are artistic?

I am very big into writing and have played guitar for about thirteen years. I also just like to be creative with ideas, whether my name is on the project or not. I think collaborating with others and just being active is very exciting

Q: How do you feel about constructive criticism?

I love it the only way you get better. In art school, critiques are so crucial and even after school you always need to crave what others think of your work.

Q: What are three things that you need in your workspace?

Good light, my MacBook, and my painters box lmao

Q: What do you prefer, abstraction or realism?

I prefer both and I really like when they meet in the middle. It creates this dialogue of what is objective and what is subjective. If I wanted to make something so real without feeling It probably would not be a painting and be something else
