Young Riot Coming back into the Music Scene
Q: If you could describe you, Young Riot, in one sentence what would that be?
A: To go against the status quo , break barriers and always be yourself.
Q: When you were younger what did you want to do when you grow up?
A: When I was young, for a very short period I wanted to be in the NFL, but I always wanted to rap.
Q: How old were you when you made your first song? What is something that you developed with making that first song?
A: I was 15 when I made my first song. The thing I developed after that song was how to actually structure a song.
Q: What is a goal that you have set for yourself for the end of the year?
A: By the end of the year I would like to be in a situation where my imprint, which is the Cabinet, has a distribution or venture deal.
Q: What do you know about A.L.I.E.N Entertainment? What do you like most about the company?
A: I was introduced to the brand by my homies Ben and Lito. I remember when the dad hats first dropped. I liked the fact that the brand has expanded to a multimedia entertainment company. Salute to what y’all doing over there with the interviews, for artists, etc.
Q: What is one piece of advice you would like to give up and coming artists like yourself?
A: If I had to give any advice for up and coming artists, it would be to learn the business and handle yours. Do not forget that is exactly what it is, a business.
Q: What made you decide on the genre of music you work on? Have you tried working on any other types of music?
A: Well I grew up working on hip hop/rap music, then I was signed at 18 to an indie label and started to experiment more into pop music. Lots of my earlier projects have a totally different sound.
Q: What streaming service do you prefer the most? Why?
A: The streaming service I prefer the most is Apple Music. I feel it is the most user friendly one, and I like Beats 1 radio.
Q: What producer would you like to work with, if any? Why?
A: I would like to work DJ Mustard. He is very good at actual production like creating songs not just making beats, and he is about his business. Shout out to my producers I already work with though, they all wavy.
Q: When are you dropping your next project?
A: I have a couple projects I am working on right now at once, at least one of them will be out either by the end of the summer or right before winter.
