Rhode Island Rapper: Adao
Q: What do you like about being an artist from Rhode Island? What do you not like?
A: I like being the underdog. I feel like there is so much talent in Rhode Island and people have been sleeping on us for too long. I am excited to see everyone prosper. The one thing I do not like about Rhode Island is that a lot of people only vibe with their homies music. I feel as if everyone gave everybody a shot with full ears. We could be unstoppable. This our year!
Q: How do you come up with the inspiration for your music?
A: All of my songs come from personal experiences that I had. Music has always been something I've loved. I suffer from depression/anxiety and music has always been my escape. Even when I'm old as hell I'll be in the stu.
Q: How would you describe your music in three ways?
A: For the first description, I will go with refreshing. I chose that because when someone plays my music for the first time. I know it is not something that they could refer to my flow or sound towards another artist, ya feel me. It is important to have your own sound. Then I will go with consistency. I feel as if there has not been a decline with the quality of my music. Every song I am getting better and that comes with anything you do in life. Practice makes perfect. Finally I will go with Versatile. There maybe some songs where I'll drop ya know 64 bars or be on my drake sh*t. It is whatever I am feeling that day.
Q: What is your end goal?
A: My end goal is to be the best version of myself, to take care of my family and close ones, and to reach anyone’s desires or feelings. There is nothing better than hearing someone tell you that your music helped them out during a tough time.
Q: If you could work with anybody in any part of the industry who would it be and why?
A: This is the hardest question by far. I really could not name a particular artist, producer/entrepreneur because there are so many talented people out there. I do feel like I could vibe or make a hit with any artist. That is always the energy when I am in the stu.
Q: What do you like about music videos? Will you be releasing any any time soon?
Adao (@adao401) on Instagram: "Polo G - Go Stupid remix🤞🏻💜💫 Let me know whatch y'all think! My EP "KEEP IT A BUCK 4" on the way in..."
A: I like that music videos can really define and show your audience a visual. I love watching Da Baby’s and Travis Scott’s because they put so much into their videos. I will be releasing a video or two for my upcoming project! "Keep It A Buck 4" This will be my first visual ever. I am so excited!
Q: Who or what keeps you going on the path to your career?
A: My passion for music. Like I told you before it has always been a stress reliever and a way of letting me express myself. My haters also keep me motivated and hungry towards my ultimate goal. "Being Heard"
Q: What is your all time favorite song and why?
A: It would have to be "Jakes" an unreleased song that will be on my upcoming project (Keep It A Buck 4). The energy is dummy on that song with consistent bars start to finish. It could be the one to get me out!
Q: What do you think is the best way to gain followers?
A: Be yourself. People will appreciate and gravitate you more if you are showing your true self. Once people know your cappin (lying), you just look dumb.
Q: What do you have planned for the year?
A: I plan on many things! I have some podcasts/interviews, a project maybe 2, Music Videos, live performances and a clothing line I'm excited to premier soon. I appreciate everyone who has been rocking with me from the jump.
